Kathleen Wubker

Kathleen (Katie) Wubker is a seasoned litigator who joined Ferrelle Burns after working at a top tier national law firm and serving as general counsel for a mid-sized Jacksonville-based manufacturer and wholesaler of ice vending equipment. As general counsel, Katie gained significant experience in a diverse array of matters, including labor and employment, corporate development and formality, patent and trademark registration and protection, contract review and negotiation, and franchise and distributorship matters. Katie oversaw several corporate restructurings and managed all aspects of the firm’s litigation, including jury trial management and the selection, retention, and oversight of outside counsel.  

Katie’s private practice as a commercial litigator has included representation of local, national, and international corporations and other business entities in all aspects of commercial contract, transportation/logistics and tort litigation. Most recently, Katie has developed specific experience in trusts and estates, transportation and cargo claims, and appellate law.  Katie’s appellate practice has encompassed appeals to state and federal courts, including the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals and the Florida district courts.  Prior to entering private practice, Katie worked as a staff attorney for Justice Barbara Pariente on the Supreme Court of Florida.  Additionally, Katie clerked for Judge Marcia Morales Howard in the Middle District of Florida, Jacksonville Division.  

Katie is a Jacksonville native, grew up in Neptune Beach, and attended Fletcher High School.  Katie is also a “Double Gator,” having earned both her undergraduate degree and law degree from the University of Florida.  In law school, Katie served as the Articles Editor for the Journal of Law and Public Policy and received “Book Awards” for Evidence, Estates and Trusts, and Corporations. Upon graduating, Katie regularly assisted in the drafting and benching of the Moot Court hypothetical for competitions sponsored by the Florida Bar.   

In her community, Katie is currently a member of the Hand in Hand fundraising Committee for Nemours Children’s Clinic, and has previously served as a member of the Women’s Board for Wolfson’s Children’s Hospital.  In her free time, Katie enjoys running, reading, and spending time with her family.  Katie has completed four marathons – most recently, the Disney Marathon in January 2023 for the benefit of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society
